Can you pour a slab in my backyard?

Usually yes. Access determines the method — a direct chute, wheelbarrows or a pump — and that affects the price, which is why we look at gate width and side yard clearance.

How level will the slab be?

Slabs are formed to a planned elevation, often with a slight intentional slope for drainage on outdoor pads. We'll tell you the plan before pouring.

Load drives the design

A shed slab and an RV pad are not the same pour. Thickness, reinforcement, edge detail and base depth all change with the weight the slab will carry and how that weight is distributed. Point loads from equipment feet need different treatment than the spread load of a vehicle.

Base prep in sandy soil

The subgrade gets graded and compacted before forming. On soft or previously disturbed ground, that step is the difference between a flat slab in five years and a cracked one.

Anchors, sleeves and what comes later

If a structure, posts or equipment will attach to the slab, anchor bolts, sleeves and conduit penetrations should be placed during the pour. Retrofitting them into cured concrete is harder and never as clean.
