Walkways we build

Front entry walks from the driveway or sidewalk to the front door, garden and backyard paths, side yard routes to the hose bib or A/C pad, and connections between the patio, pool deck and shed.

Each one is laid out on the ground with stakes and string first, so you can walk the route and adjust it before anything is formed.

Width, slope and comfort

A main entry walk should let two people walk side by side; a garden path can be narrower. We size the width to how the path will actually be used.

Every walk gets enough cross slope to shed Jacksonville's summer downpours without feeling tilted underfoot, and transitions at steps and landings keep riser heights consistent so nobody trips.

Finishes: plain to decorative

A light broom finish is the practical default — good traction in the wet and easy to keep clean. If the walk is a feature of the front yard, there are plenty of ways to dress it up.

Working around trees and roots

Replacing an old walk

If the existing path is cracked, settled or lifted, we tear it out, haul it off, regrade and compact the base, and pour the new walk on a route that avoids whatever caused the last one to fail.
