The questions homeowners ask us most often, answered without the sales pitch.
Price is driven by square footage, slab thickness, base preparation, demolition and haul-off of an old slab, reinforcement, the finish you choose, site access and any drainage work. The cost calculator on this site gives a planning range; an exact number comes from a free on-site quote.
Most residential driveways are demo, prep and pour across a few working days, weather permitting. Curing then continues after we leave: foot traffic in a day or two, passenger vehicles around seven days, heavier vehicles longer.
Thickness depends on what will park on it and what the subgrade is like. Passenger vehicles and light trucks are the common case; RVs, trailers and delivery trucks call for a thicker slab and heavier reinforcement. We set thickness during the site visit rather than using one number for every job.
Yes. Replacement includes breaking out the old slab, hauling the debris off site and rebuilding the base before the new pour. Demolition is a real line item, so it shows up in the quote rather than appearing later.
Concrete shrinks as it cures, so some cracking is expected. Control joints are cut so that shrinkage cracks land inside the joints. Cracking that appears outside joints usually points to base settlement, drainage, tree roots or reinforcement that didn't match the load.
New concrete never matches old concrete exactly — age, weathering and sealer all change color. We can get close with finish and color choices, and in many cases a clean joint line between old and new looks better than an attempted match.
Texture and sealer choice matter more than the pattern. Around pools we use finishes with traction in mind and sealers rated for that use. Lighter colors also stay cooler underfoot in Florida sun.
Sealing helps decorative, stamped and colored concrete hold color and resist staining, and it is worth reapplying periodically. Plain broom-finish driveways do fine unsealed for many homeowners. We'll tell you which category your project is in.
Often, yes — crack repair, joint work, spall patching, section replacement, resurfacing and slab leveling all avoid a full tear-out. The deciding factor is whether the slab and the base under it are still sound.
An overlay or micro-topping applied over an existing slab to renew the surface. It only works when the slab underneath is structurally sound — resurfacing a failing slab hides the problem for a season and then cracks through.
We answer calls seven days a week, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Scheduling of the actual pour depends on weather, concrete delivery and the crew calendar.
